Safety First:
Visitor Policy Update, December 14, 2020
The COVID-19 Hospital Visitor Policy is intended to provide additional safeguards for our patients, families, visitors and caregivers through decreased exposure to individuals who may have been exposed to the novel coronavirus that causes COVID-19.
The following policies are now in effect:
- "Well" Patients/Visitors - Please enter through the Front Entrance between 7 am and 5 pm.
- "Sick" Patients/Visitors - Please enter through the ED Entrance.
- Women in Labor - Please enter through the Birthing Center Entrance.
Restricted Visitation:
- No visitors are allowed in the ED, ICU or Inpatient areas or lobbies (with limited exceptions detailed below).
- Women in labor are allowed one visitor for the duration of their stay.
- One parent or guardian is allowed with children under the age of 18 for the duration of their stay.
- Dependent adults are allowed one caregiver for the duration of their stay.
- Outpatients for surgical procedures are allowed one visitor for the duration of their visit.
- End-of-life exceptions may be made for immediate family members.
- Adult visitors will be asked screening questions by a medical professional at the open entrance. If positive for the symptoms of fever, cough or flu-like symptoms, individuals will be asked not to visit hospital patients and leave the facility.
- To minimize unnecessary exposure to infectious or communicable diseases, non-essential activities are temporarily suspended until further notice, including community education seminars, tours, education events and pre-operative classes, and volunteer, chaplain and student programs.
- If a patient or their caregiver requests a visit from the clergy or other religious or spiritual advisors, they would be allowed. These visitors would follow the same guidelines as other visitors regarding face coverings, hand washing and other restrictions.
Due to the changing nature of COVID-19’s presence in Southeast region, this policy will be revised accordingly in response to circumstances.
